Chicago, IL - (September 9, 2008)
Today the Big Ten Network and Txtstation announced their partnership by unveiling their plans surrounding a real-time text-messaging promotion for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Viewers will be able to interact live with Big Ten Friday Night Tailgate Presented by Nissan by sending a text message from their mobile phone. Pending the necessary review and approval, the text message would then appear on the screen, providing instant gratification to the viewer for playing a role in the broadcast. In addition, the Big Ten Network will be utilizing Txtstation’s real-time, broadcast-quality graphics solution to implement text polling during its broadcasts.
"By implementing Txtstation’s text-to-screen and real-time text-polling solutions, we’re able to allow fans to truly participate in our programming. Txtstation was able to customize their application to be compatible with our existing technology and ensure high-definition quality," said Michael Calderon, Director of New Media for the Big Ten Network. "The Big Ten Network and Txtstation are a perfect fit. They were looking for new ways to engage their viewers and we are always looking to align with a market leader. Our unique, high-definition capabilities encourage participation, allow the fans to interact with the brand, and subsequently, a one-to-one dialogue with the viewers is created. Needless to say, we are very excited to have the opportunity to work with the Big Ten Network," said Michael Falato, Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Txtstation.
